KWI is an entity of Wayne Matiu Enterprises Pty Ltd which was first registered in 2003. Previously to this, Wayne operated as a sole trader.

Kiwi Workforce International combines a wealth of experience to provide a professional placement service for trades’ personnel in Australia and New Zealand.

Kiwi Workforce International originated as Wayne Matiu Enterprises Pty. Ltd. liaising with Burns and Associates NZ.

KWI was formed due to many phone calls from tradesmen enquiring about work in WA.

The company has successfully carried out recruitment placement of New Zealand tradesmen with clients seeking above ground and underground electricians. Many of the candidates did not have previous mine experience, but the right industrial experience and have since been offered permanent positions. The company has also supplied both Project and Shut Down staff. With this success we are now taking the next step in development, as Kiwi Workforce International.

About Us

Wayne Matiu KWI was established to meet the increasing demands for skilled and semi-skilled workers for Western Australia’s industrial boom, which is forecast to continue for many years. Shortage of labour has lead companies to look offshore for their staff. The WA Government has put forward plans for the future development of services and infrastructure, to accommodate the increase in industry and population.

KWI operates from offices located in Auckland NZ and Perth WA. Consultants Wayne Matiu and Mike Burns have been involved in the electrical trade since the early 1970’s. Mike and Wayne have worked on several projects together during their 20 year association.

Wayne has been based in Perth for the past 10 years, originally from Kaitaia at the tip of the North Island, New Zealand. He has over 30 years of industrial electrical experience in New Zealand, Australia and overseas. Wayne’s experience in the mining industry of WA both in maintenance and construction brings first hand knowledge of the mine sites and their conditions.

Mike Burns lives in Auckland New Zealand, and has owned and operated an Electrical company for the last 30 years, specialising mainly in industrial, medical, and hazardous areas.

In the pre business years, Mike trained in the timber industry, then travelled and worked extensively overseas.
